Hours and Compensation

Beginning in 2017, the base salary for a first-year associate at Wiley Rein is $180,000. Additionally, the firm offers a discretionary bonus, judicial clerkship bonus or fall associate stipend, moving expense reimbursement, and bar expense reimbursement.

Our compensation system involves lockstep increases for junior associates and a merit based compensation program that is tied to the achievement of our competencies.  The hours expectations for all associates is 1,950 billable hours.

We Value Your Commitment to Community

The firm also gives associates 50 hours of credit toward their billable-hours total for pro bono work. Pro bono work is also favorably considered in the annual associate evaluation process.
