Law360 Cites 'Topflight' Wiley Rein Team in Coverage of Net Neutrality Challenge

Wiley Rein was highlighted as a “topflight” communications firm in a Law360 article about court challenges to net neutrality rules adopted this year by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). To read the article, click here.

The Wiley Rein team appealing the rules on behalf of a Texas broadband provider includes Andrew G. McBride, chair of firm’s Communications Litigation and Appellate practices, and partners Eve Klindera Reed and Brett A. Shumate, Law360 reported in the April 30 article.

The publication noted that Mr. McBride is a “widely known name in telecom law” whose successes include winning an important D.C. Circuit decision limiting use of Digital Millennium Copyright Act subpoenas to obtain private subscriber data from Internet service providers. He also secured a crucial court victory on behalf of the wireless industry, successfully arguing to enjoin the San Francisco “Cell Phone Right to Know Ordinance” under the First Amendment.

Law360 also pointed out that Ms. Reed and Mr. Shumate are no strangers to net neutrality matters; both were on the Wiley Rein team that last year persuaded the D.C. Circuit to strike down the FCC’s previous set of net neutrality rules.
