Kirk Nahra Discusses Need for Increased Cybersecurity Efforts in Health Care Sector
Kirk J. Nahra, chair of Wiley Rein’s Privacy Practice and co-chair of the Health Care Practice, was quoted in a HealthcareInfoSecurity article about the urgent need for health care organizations to better assess data breach risks and revamp their cybersecurity efforts in the wake of recent major hacker attacks in the health care field.
Mr. Nahra pointed out that even some well-meaning healthcare organizations are also realizing that the diligent efforts they've been putting into information security aren't enough. But these attacks have been eye-opening to many companies, that 'we really need to beef up' in terms of protection against these external risks," he commented.
Organizations in all sectors need to up their game, Mr. Nahra said. "It's a real challenge. The health care sector isn't alone in terms of facing weaknesses and threats," he added.
