Kirk Nahra Weighs In On Ashley Madison Data Breach
Kirk J. Nahra, chair of Wiley Rein’s Privacy Practice and co-chair of the Health Care Practice, was quoted in an article published yesterday in The National Law Journal, about the release of 40 million names and addresses of possible users of Ashley Madison.
According to the article, typically after a high-profile breach, plaintiffs’ attorneys will file suits, often seeking class action status. Given that any potential clients would have their undesirable backgrounds made public, plaintiffs’ attorneys have been hesitant to take on such representations. And clients are likely to be reluctant to come forward as well.
Mr. Nahra, who doubts many class action plaintiffs would materialize, asked “Who is going to volunteer to be identified as part of this class?”
