Michael Toner Discusses Political Fundraising

CNN
July 20, 2012

Wiley Rein Election Law & Government Ethics Practice co-chair Michael Toner was interviewed by CNN on political fundraising in the 2012 election cycle.

CNN reported that political experts estimate that $6 billion dollars will be spent during the 2012 presidential election and that an appreciable amount of that money has been made possible by the Citizens United Supreme Court decision.  But in the aftermath of the Citizens United ruling and with the record amounts of money being spent in the 2012 presidential race, Mr. Toner noted that the issue of money and politics is not new.
