Kirk Nahra Discusses Sony Data Breach in Video Interview with Bloomberg BNA
Kirk J. Nahra, chair of Wiley Rein's Privacy Practice, was recently featured in a Bloomberg BNA video interview about lessons companies can learn from the recent cyberattack against Sony Pictures.
“What you have here is a good example of how privacy and security is really part of every company's responsibility, and it affects a lot of different departments in the company,” Mr. Nahra told reporter Caryn Freeman of BNA's Human Resources Report. But he noted that most companies would find it difficult to fight the type of attack that Sony experienced.
“I think there's a real problem at many companies, and you've got lots of things that you can do to bring you up to sort of a normal level of protection,” Mr. Nahra said. “And then what this incident is showing is that we really may have to think about going even higher than that, because these threats of cyberattacks—whether it's through a government or through other kinds of cyberattacks—are really growing for everyone.”
