Wiley Rein & Fielding Celebrates Twenty Years

October 22, 2003

Washington, DC—Wiley Rein & Fielding LLP, named “one of the country’s most respected law firms” by The Wall Street Journal, is celebrating its 20th Anniversary with a celebration at the firm’s Washington, DC office on October 30.

When the firm first opened its doors in 1983 with 39 attorneys, it quickly developed a Washington presence, offering its clients a fundamental understanding of the inner workings and decision-making processes of the federal government. Still deeply rooted in Washington, over the past 20 years, the firm has grown into the large diversified practice envisioned by its founders and has earned national prominence and international stature.

Acknowledged early on for its distinguished communications practice, Wiley Rein & Fielding has successfully established itself in a wide range of fields including insurance, government contracts, international trade, litigation, government affairs, intellectual property, franchising, bankruptcy, consumer products, corporate, election law, employment and privacy.

Wiley Rein & Fielding is now home to more than 250 attorneys who counsel leaders in numerous industries nationwide and globally and practice in more than twenty federal departments and agencies in Washington, as well as in federal and state courts across the country.

Reflecting on the accomplishments of the firm, Managing Partner Richard E. Wiley said, “It is with pride that we look back on our achievements of the past twenty years. The loyalty of our clients and the hard work and dedication of our lawyers and staff have brought us to where we are today. With the continued commitment and the support of our clients and friends, we look forward to continued growth and success for the next 20 years and beyond.”
