WRF Partner Co-Chairs Conference on Insurance Claims and Coverage Issues after Katrina
Wiley Rein & Fielding Insurance partner Laura A. Foggan will co-chair the Practising Law Institute's seminar, Rebuilding After Katrina: A Guide to Business and Personal Insurance Claims and Coverage Issues, on October 6, 2005.
Hurricane Katrina—one of the biggest natural disasters ever to hit the U.S. will undoubtedly result in disputes over insurance claims. This seminar will discuss: business claims and commercial coverage issues such as property damage, business interruption insurance, environmental clean up and claims; special issues for homeowners coverages such as mold exclusions; requirements for a proof of loss and the claims adjustment process; and state regulatory, legislative and litigation activity.
Ms. Foggan, a partner in the firm's Insurance and Appellate Practice Groups, has more than 20 years of experience representing insurers in coverage disputes and critical appeals. She directs major complex commercial litigation in courts nationwide and serves as lead counsel in a wide range of trial and appellate matters involving underlying terrorism, technology, environmental, employment, product liability, mass tort and pharmaceutical claims. Ms. Foggan has been named one of the "100 Leading Women" in insurance by Business Insurance magazine and one of "America's Leading Lawyers for Business" by Chambers USA .
