Wiley Rein & Fielding’s John F. Kamp Appointed to the National Advertising Review Board

May 26, 2004

Washington, DC—John F. Kamp, co-chair of Wiley Rein & Fielding LLP’s Advertising Practice, has been appointed to the National Advertising Review Board (NARB), the appeals body for the National Advertising Division of the Council for Better Business Bureaus (NAD). An independent self-regulatory body that deals with advertising issues in the United States, NAD, along with the Children's Advertising Review Unit (CARU), investigates ad claims to ensure their truthfulness and accuracy. When an advertiser or challenger disagrees with a NAD or CARU recommendation, it may appeal the decision to the NARB for additional review.

Kamp is a leading advocate of First Amendment and marketing issues throughout the government, including the Federal Trade Commission, Food and Drug Administration, Department of Commerce and the White House. A former Senior Vice President of the American Association of Advertising Agencies, Kamp advises advertising clients on all aspects of regulatory compliance including privacy and claims substantiation.
