WRF International Trade Practice and Attorneys Receive Top Honors in National Rankings
Washington, DC – Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business has recognized Wiley Rein & Fielding’s International Trade Practice as being among the nation’s best and named partners Charles Owen Verrill, Jr. and John B. Reynolds III as “Leading Lawyers.” Chambers ratings are based on extensive interviews of law firms’ clients, colleagues and competitors.
Previously recognized by Chambers as one of the country's “elite international trade practices,” WRF’s International Trade Group represents clients in domestic and international trade regulation matters, market access issues and dispute resolution. The current edition of the legal directory adds that the team “sustains a high profile in trade remedy litigation, having built a favorable reputation for itself in the steel sector” as well as for its expertise in national security issues.
Charles Verrill, chair of WRF’s International Trade Practice, is singled out for his trade remedy and trade policy work and for his counsel in import and export matters in particular. John Reynolds is given a top-tier ranking in the area of export controls and economic sanctions and is lauded as an “outstanding OFAC practitioner who has worked in the field for years and therefore has a tremendous sense of how it has evolved.” He also received plaudits for his work with export controls, especially in the areas of national security-related controls, munitions and exports implicating U.S. sanctions regulations.
In compiling the Chambers USA guide, researchers from London-based Chambers and Partners evaluate law firms and attorneys on several factors, including: technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial awareness/astuteness, diligence, commitment and other qualities most valued by clients.
