Wiley Rein's Privacy Practice Receives Chambers USA's Top Distinction; Kirk J. Nahra and John B. Reynolds III Named Leading Lawyers

June 16, 2008

The 2008 edition of Chambers USA:  America’s Leading Lawyers for Business recognizes Wiley Rein’s Privacy Practice as one of the best in the nation and names group chair Kirk J. Nahra and partner John B. Reynolds III as “Leading Lawyers” in the industry.

As the directory reports, the 20-member group does “significant work on behalf of key players in the telecommunications and technology sectors, as well as advising healthcare and insurance sector clients.”  Covering the full range of privacy matters, of note is the group’s work on issues concerning the Safe Harbor arrangement, the EU Data Protection Directive, and the development and implementation of corporate and website privacy and security policies.

Mr. Nahra, who also co-chairs Wiley Rein’s Healthcare Practice, is lauded for his work in relation to HIPAA, expertise drawn from “the intersection of these two components of his expertise.”  Mr. Reynolds—who, as a partner in the firm’s International Trade Practice, represents US and international clients from sectors such as banking and finance, defense, technology and consumer products—is commended for his “experience in national security and international privacy law, particularly regarding US/EU data transfers.”

The Chambers ratings are based on extensive interviews of law firms’ clients, colleagues and competitors.  Inclusion is determined through a rigorous vetting process whereby Chambers researchers evaluate law firms and attorneys on a number of factors.
