Wiley Rein to Receive Whitman-Walker Clinic Award for Pro Bono Representation on Behalf of People Living with HIV/AIDS

May 18, 2009

Wiley Rein will be presented with the Whitman-Walker Clinic’s “Going the Extra Mile Award” in honor of its outstanding legal work on behalf of people living with HIV/AIDS at a benefit on June 9.  For almost 20 years, the firm has provided pro bono services to clients referred by Whitman-Walker with a variety of legal needs, and its attorneys were instrumental in helping to start the Clinic’s pro bono program.  Wiley Rein Managing Partner Richard E. Wiley said, “All of us at Wiley Rein are honored by Whitman-Walker’s recognition of the firm and, more important, for the opportunity to have worked with the Clinic and its clients over the past two decades.  We look forward to continuing our relationship with the Clinic and its Legal Services Program for many years to come.”

Established in 1978, Whitman-Walker Clinic is a non-profit, community-based provider of health care in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area.
