Wiley Rein Intellectual Property Group Expands with Arrival of Litigator Anthony H. Son

April 1, 2010

Wiley Rein LLP is pleased to welcome patent litigator Anthony H. Son as the newest partner in its highly regarded Intellectual Property Group. Mr. Son handles cases involving patent disputes on behalf of clients in a wide array of industries, including financial services, semiconductors, electronics, computers, automotives, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and consumer products. He comes to Wiley Rein from the Washington, DC office of Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz, where he was a partner.

Managing partner Richard E. Wiley commented, "We are delighted that Anthony has decided to join us. His extensive litigation experience is an excellent fit with our first-rate IP team." Patent Practice chair James H. Wallace, Jr. said, "Anthony's extensive litigation background adds to our deep bench and complements our existing capabilities. He is a great addition to the group."

At Wiley Rein, Mr. Son will be part of a thriving IP Practice that includes more than three dozen attorneys skilled in infringement litigation, public policy advocacy, licensing, valuation of IP assets and dealings with relevant government agencies. The group received national attention for securing a $612.5 million settlement in a patent case against the makers of BlackBerry wireless email devices, as well as one of the largest copyright infringement verdicts in history.

Mr. Son received his J.D., cum laude, from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and his B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Maryland. He can be reached at 202.719.7492 or ason@wileyrein.com.
