Three Wiley Rein Partners Named “Rising Stars” by Law360

March 11, 2013

Law360 has recognized Wiley Rein partners William S. Consovoy, Robert E. DeFrancesco III and Cara Tseng Duffield as rising stars in their respective practice areas. The honor goes to “attorneys under 40 whose legal accomplishments belie their age.”

Mr. Consovoy, repeatedly named a “leading lawyer” by The Legal 500, is a partner in Wiley Rein’s Appellate Practice. A former clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, he litigates complex federal jurisdiction, preemption, constitutional and telecommunications issues before the Supreme Court, federal appellate and trial courts, state courts and federal agencies.

Mr. DeFrancesco is a partner in the firm’s International Trade Practice, which Law360 has recognized as a “Group of the Year” for the past three years. With in-depth experience in U.S. antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings—including industries that range from aluminum extrusions, steel pipes, wind towers, to solar panels—he helped make 2012 the biggest year ever for Wiley Rein in terms of new trade petitions filed and cases won.

Ms. Duffield is a partner in the Insurance Practice, which has a record of scoring high-profile victories for clients and has been a Law360 “Group of the Year” for the past two years. She represents professional liability insurers nationwide in complex disputes arising under directors and officers, financial institution, investment advisor, lawyers and other professional liability coverages.

Editors at Law360 received almost 1,000 nominations before making selections.
