Bloomberg BNA Hosts Patent Litigation Conference On January 14 In San Francisco With Focus On Patent Reform

Wiley Rein’s James Wallace and Brian Pandya Are Co-Chairs of Event Featuring Sitting U.S. District Court Judges, Luminaries in IP Litigation, Corporate Representatives, and Members of Academia

December 16, 2015

Wiley Rein LLP, in conjunction with Bloomberg BNA, will present an informative and comprehensive one-day conference, “Patent Litigation in the New Era,” developed to help intellectual property practitioners keep abreast of rapid changes in the profession and provide an outlook on patent reform. Featuring patent litigation experts in interactive panel discussions, the event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, at the San Francisco offices of Bloomberg LP. Attendees can receive up to seven CLE credits, and registration is available here

The intensive program is co-chaired by James H. Wallace, Jr., chair emeritus of Wiley Rein’s Intellectual Property Group, and Brian H. Pandya, a partner in the Group, each of whom will moderate one of the four panels presented that day.

“Attendees will benefit from an impressive lineup of speakers to provide the perspectives of corporations, the judicial community, law firms, and the judiciary on this timely subject,” Mr. Wallace said. “The conference provides patent litigants and their trial counsel with the latest insights and intelligence from the unprecedented changes in the landscape created by recent patent rulings by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and Supreme Court.”

Mr. Pandya will moderate Panel I, “Patent Reform Legislation After the Leahy-Smith America Invents Act and Octane/Highmark,” and Mr. Wallace will moderate Panel IV, “Legal Hurdles and Developments from Supreme Court/CAFC.” Additional panels will focus on “Coordinating Cross-Border Enforcement” and the “Interplay of Patent Trial and Appeal Board and District Court.” Key thought leaders on the panels include industry representatives, regulators, and litigators, who will address current and evolving trends impacting a wide range of industries.

Featured speakers include:

  • Honorable Paul S. Grewal, U.S. District Court, Northern District of California
  • Honorable Cathy A. Bencivengo, U.S. District Court, Southern District of California
