August 2, 2016

Wiley Rein LLP partners R. Michael Senkowski and Joshua  S. Turner will participate today in the first-ever White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) Workshop on Drones and the Future of Aviation. The comprehensive workshop will bring together government, academic, and industry stakeholders to discuss the near- and long-term implications of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) as an emerging technology. The program will address issues related to airspace integration; the creation of jobs, high-impact research, and new industries; public service capabilities; and public safety, security, and privacy concerns.

Mr. Senkowski will join the Federal Aviation Administration, the Federal Communications Commission, and a White House team to facilitate a discussion regarding adequate spectrum resources for current and future federal and commercial UAS use, regulation questions related to allocation, licensure, technical communications protocol, and more.
