Wiley Rein Secures Favorable Ruling in Pro Bono Disability Case
Wiley Rein LLP recently secured a favorable ruling for a pro bono client in an appeal of the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) denial of the client’s application for disability benefits. Associate Dylan Hix submitted a detailed letter brief and extensive evidence to the SSA Office of Disability Adjudication and Review, documenting the client's eligibility for the benefits—including medical records and statements from the client’s case worker. Following a hearing before Administrative Law Judge Jennifer Long in late July, Judge Long issued a fully favorable decision, finding that the client was disabled and entitled to Supplemental Security Income.
Wiley Rein and its lawyers have been recognized numerous times over the firm’s 30-year history for their pro bono contributions, and the firm prides itself on a strong tradition of pro bono service to both local and global communities.
