September 14, 2015

Wiley Rein partners Rachel A. Alexander and Jerita L. DeBraux Salley have been named to a leadership role and a board position at the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF), the premier organization for women attorneys that is dedicated to women from the largest law firms and corporate law departments in the United States, and which recently expanded internationally with a London division. Ms. Alexander will serve as co-chair of WILEF DC, one of six U.S. markets in which the forum operates. Ms. Salley was named to the WILEF Global Advisory Board.

Betiayn Tursi, WILEF’s Global Chair and Co-Founder, notes the organization’s key mission is “to create a dialogue for the purpose of educating women on how to become leaders in the workplace and in the community by building, exercising, and implementing a strong sense of empowerment. Our goal is to achieve results that will foster the adoption of new policies and practices to advance women in the world of corporate law.”

Ms. Alexander counsels clients on health care and government contracting matters. In particular, her practice covers state and federal regulatory compliance, contract administration, procurement matters, and litigation. She advises clients on Medicare, TRICARE, the Federal Employees Health Benefits, and Medicaid programs. Ms. Alexander serves as co-chair of Wiley Rein’s Recruiting Committee, as well as co-chair of the Women's Forum affinity group.

Ms. Salley is a corporate and transactional attorney who counsels broadcast, cable, financial institutions, nonprofit, and other clients in regulated industries including the communications and government contracts fields, as well as in non-regulated industries, in a wide variety of corporate governance, contract negotiation, and other transactional matters. Ms. Salley was named one of City Year’s Washington DC Idealists of the Year in 2013.

Founded in 1997, with the support of law firm and corporate supporters, WILEF is dedicated to helping women lawyers assume leadership roles within the AmLaw 200 and Fortune 1000 legal departments and within their respective communities. WILEF presents cutting-edge programming that provides an educational and networking forum for women in the field of law.
