MHz Networks Announces 2009 Richard Bodorff MHz Award Recipient

MHz Networks is pleased to announce that the 2009 Richard Bodorff MHz Award recipient is Michael Ortman, vice president of programming for Comcast Cable’s Eastern Division. The award—which is given annually—is named for Wiley Rein Communications Practice partner Richard J. Bodorff and is granted to individuals who provide support to Washington, DC organizations focused on international and/or multi-cultural education and understanding.  Mr. Bodorff represents radio and television licensees before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and specializes in obtaining FCC approval for the purchase and sale of broadcast properties.

Mr. Ortman is responsible for supporting programming for the Eastern Division’s almost six million residential and business services customers. He also played a key role in managing the broadcast digital TV transition, working with broadcasters and Comcast staff to ensure a smooth seamless transition for all involved.  

MHz Networks is an independent, non-commercial television broadcaster delivering international educational and arts programming and providing diverse cultural perspectives for a globally minded audience.
