Press Release

Wiley Rein's Media Practice and Attorneys Still Stand Alone As Washington's Best Regulatory Group

June 16, 2010

The 2010 edition of Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business once again recognizes Wiley Rein's Media Practice as the only top-tier regulatory-focused group and singles out practice chair Richard E. Wiley and partner Kathleen A. Kirby as "Leading Lawyers."

Chambers notes that Wiley Rein's Media group "has an unbelievable amount of experience and expertise, and a strong grasp of regulatory issues; they know the FCC inside out."  The publication reports the firm is "widely acknowledged as one of the leading communications-related regulatory practices in Washington, DC.  It excels in transactional and litigation work and is a first choice for FCC matters, with a former FCC chair leading the team and a number of former FCC employees within its ranks."

Managing Partner and former FCC Chairman Mr. Wiley is acknowledged as "the dean of communications lawyers-he is universally recognized as a leading FCC practitioner." Ms. Kirby is mentioned for specializing in First Amendment work and is praised for her "superior subject expertise, commitment to her clients and great connections within the industry."

The Chambers ratings are based on extensive interviews of law firms' clients, colleagues and competitors.  Inclusion in the directory is determined through a rigorous vetting process.
