Wiley Rein Celebrates Its 30th Anniversary

May 1, 2013

Wiley Rein LLP, a homegrown Washington, DC law firm that has earned national and international distinction, celebrates its 30th anniversary today, May 1, 2013, with a reception recognizing the attorneys and staff who have contributed so greatly to its success.

This milestone highlights the firm’s evolution, since opening its doors with 39 lawyers in 1983, to the Washington institution it is today. Now home to more than 275 attorneys, Wiley Rein has a global reputation as a “go to” firm for regulatory and policy work. It simultaneously has built its litigation and appellate capabilities across all practice areas.

Lauded early on for its preeminent Communications Group, the firm has successfully expanded its legal, regulatory and public policy foundation into the large and diversified practice envisioned by its founders—Richard E. Wiley and Bert W. Rein. Wiley Rein now ranks among the most prominent law firms in Washington, DC, and its often nationally recognized groups include Appellate, Aviation, Bankruptcy, Corporate, Election Law, Environment & Safety, Food & Drug Law, Franchise, Government Contracts, Health Care, Insurance, Intellectual Property, International Trade, Litigation, Privacy and White Collar Defense. The firm’s attorneys counsel leaders in numerous industries nationwide and globally, engaging with more than 20 U.S. regulatory agencies and practicing in federal and state courts across the country.

Reflecting on the firm’s achievements, Richard E. Wiley, Chairman of the Firm, said, “Our accomplishments over the past 30 years are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our lawyers and staff. We are fortunate in the loyalty of our clients and friends, with whose steadfast support we look forward to continued growth and success for many years to come.”
