Ms. Laham counsels clients and litigates on compliance with federal, state and local political laws including election laws, the Ethics in Government Act, House and Senate Ethics, state ethics laws, the Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995 and its state counterparts and the Foreign Agents Registration Act.


REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

  • Litigates before the U.S. Supreme Court, numerous federal circuit and district courts and state courts with respect to issues of election law, constitutional law and administrative law.
  • Advises corporations, trade associations, political groups, candidates, PACs, media corporations and individuals on federal and state campaign finance, government ethics and lobbying law.
  • Represents clients before the FEC, as well as numerous state election law, ethics and lobbying commissions.
  • Represented a state federal campaign committee in a landmark U.S. Supreme Court case holding that Congress may not limit independent expenditures by political parties (Colorado Republican Federal Campaign Committee, 518 U.S. 640 1996).
  • Commentator on CNN, Fox News and MSNBC.
  • Counsels corporations with respect to pay-to-play statutes, regulations and ordinances and with respect to procurement lobbying laws.
