REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
- Counsels corporations and trade associations on compliance with all aspects of the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act of 2007 (HLOGA), the Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA) and federal ethics rules.
- Develops and helps implement political law compliance programs for corporations, trade associations and other organizations.
- Advises corporations, nonprofits, trade associations, lobbying firms, PACs, candidates, leadership PACs and 527s with respect to campaign finance, lobbying and other political law compliance issues.
- Counsels corporations with respect to federal, state and local pay-to-play rules (including Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) Rule G-37 and the SEC's rule for investment advisers), procurement lobbying laws and other state and local lobbying, campaign finance and ethics issues.
- Assists corporations and their PACs with filing Federal Election Commission (FEC), Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and LDA reports as well as state campaign finance, lobbying and ethics reports.
- Defends individuals, corporations, candidates and other political organizations in FEC enforcement actions and other types of campaign finance litigation.
- Conducts legal compliance audits and internal investigations in connection with PAC and lobbying activity.
- Advises media companies about the intersection of campaign finance laws and advertising.
