REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
- Advises clients regarding legal issues arising under U.S. and international privacy laws including the CAN-SPAM Act, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Do-Not-Call Act, Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Act, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA) and international regimes including the European Union's Data Protection Directive.
- Nearly two decades of experience in representing businesses on the law of marketing communications and location-based services.
- Counsels clients on legal issues arising in e-commerce, the collection and use of customer and personal information, the development and modification of privacy practices and compliance with data security laws.
- Represents clients before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and FTC on rulemaking and enforcement proceedings on privacy and security law.
- Extensive experience in litigation, rulemaking, counseling and legislative matters involving the rates and classifications of the U.S. Postal Service, including participation in every major rate and classification proceeding since 1987.
- Assists publishers regarding alternative delivery programs and compliance with the Private Express Statutes.
