Employment & Labor Special Counsel
Wiley Rein LLP currently seeks an experienced employment attorney to join our Employment practice. This role will work directly with the practice leader on a variety of employment and non-employment issues, such as general business strategy and legal compliance. Qualified candidates will have at least six years’ experience in employment counseling, negotiating, and litigation. Academically distinguished candidates with experience in one or more of following areas are encouraged to apply: counseling on general employment issues (FLSA, ADA, FMLA, discrimination); noncompetition and trade secrets; wage and hour; and employment and separation agreements. Experience working in a nationally recognized employment and labor firm is preferred. All applicants should have excellent academic credentials and references. Special Counsel for our Washington, DC office with more than seven years of experience with trademark prosecution and maintenance experience, opinion work, proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and drafting responses to the United States Patent and Trademark Office to join our highly regarded Intellectual Property practice. International Trade Associate (Remedies)
Mid to senior-level associate for our Washington, DC office with at least five years of demonstrated trade remedies experience (including antidumping and countervailing duty experience) to join our nationally recognized International Trade practice. Experience with matters before Department of Commerce or US International Trade Commission is essential. Academically distinguished applicants who have excellent writing and communication skills, high attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines are sought to assume a client-facing role with significant responsibility.
Litigation Special Counsel - Government Contracts
Attorney for our Washington, DC office with at least 6 years of litigation experience to join our highly-regarded Government Contracts practice to assist with claims litigation involving cases of varying sizes and complexities. Government Contracts experience is preferred, but not required. Responsibilities will include managing discovery, drafting and responding to motions, taking and defending depositions, and drafting litigation pleadings. Applicants must possess excellent writing and analytical skills, high attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines. This is a non-partner track position with an 1,800 billable hour requirement.
Tax Consulting Counsel
Attorney for our Washington, DC office with at least eight years of demonstrated experience with tax aspects of corporate and partnership transactions, including taxable and tax-free equity and asset transactions. Ideal candidate will also have experience with tax controversies, tax-exempt entities, tax compliance, and general income tax accounting issues. All applicants should have excellent academic credentials and references. This is an hourly, independent consulting position.
White Collar Staff Attorney
Staff Attorney for our Washington, DC office with at least two years of legal experience to join our highly regarded White Collar practice. The ideal candidate will have experience working as a member of large document review teams, proficiency with Relativity, knowledge of document review workflows, and have strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
