Corporate Special Counsel
Wiley Rein LLP currently seeks an experienced transactional attorney to join our highly regarded Corporate practice. Qualified candidates will have at least six years’ experience handling corporate legal matters including mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, financing, corporate governance matters, and other business transactions. This dynamic but small practice offers ability to gain significant responsibility in a collaborative team environment. All applicants should have excellent academic credentials and references. Please note that this is a non-partnership track position with an 1,800 billable hour requirement.
Election Law Associate
Associate for our Washington, DC office with 1-2 years of legal experience to join our preeminent Election Law & Government Ethics practice. Candidates must have excellent academic credentials, including graduation from a top-tier law school, and superior legal research, writing, and oral communication skills. Clerkship and/or law firm experience is a plus. Candidates must demonstrate an interest in learning political law – i.e., campaign finance, lobbying, and government ethics – to provide compliance and strategic counsel to corporate, non-profit, and political clients and to represent them in enforcement and other proceedings. Experience with political law issues preferred, but not necessary. Employment & Labor Special Counsel
Wiley Rein LLP currently seeks an experienced employment attorney to join our Employment practice. This role will work directly with the practice leader on a variety of employment and non-employment issues, such as general business strategy and legal compliance. Qualified candidates will have at least six years’ experience in employment counseling, negotiating, and litigation. Academically distinguished candidates with experience in one or more of following areas are encouraged to apply: counseling on general employment issues (FLSA, ADA, FMLA, discrimination); noncompetition and trade secrets; wage and hour; and employment and separation agreements. International Trade Associate (Remedies)
Junior to mid-level associate for our Washington, DC office with demonstrated trade remedies experience (including antidumping and countervailing duty experience) to join our nationally recognized International Trade practice. Experience with matters before Department of Commerce or US International Trade Commission is essential. Academically distinguished applicants who have excellent writing and communication skills, high attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines are sought to assume a client-facing role with significant responsibility.
Litigation/White Collar Associate
Associate for our Washington, DC office with 2 - 4 years of experience in litigation and/or white-collar matters. Experience should include all substantive areas of civil litigation, complex government investigations and white-collar criminal litigation including: legal research, written discovery, depositions, motions practice (discovery, dispositive and trial related motions), client and witness interviews, and trial preparation. District clerkship and/or appellate clerkship strongly preferred. Prior government service a strong plus. Tax Consulting Counsel
Attorney for our Washington, DC office with at least eight years of demonstrated experience with tax aspects of corporate and partnership transactions, including taxable and tax-free equity and asset transactions. Ideal candidate will also have experience with tax controversies, tax-exempt entities, tax compliance, and general income tax accounting issues.
