Employment & Labor Special Counsel

Wiley Rein LLP currently seeks an experienced employment attorney to join our Employment practice. This role will work directly with the practice leader on a variety of employment and non-employment issues, such as general business strategy and legal compliance.  Qualified candidates will have at least six years’ experience in employment counseling, negotiating, and litigation.  Academically distinguished candidates with experience in one or more of following areas are encouraged to apply: counseling on general employment issues (FLSA, ADA, FMLA, discrimination); noncompetition and trade secrets; wage and hour; and employment and separation agreements.  Experience working in a nationally recognized employment and labor firm is preferred.  All applicants should have excellent academic credentials and references.  Please note that this is a non-partnership track position with an 1,800 billable hour requirement.

Environment & Safety Associate

Seeking a mid-level associate for the Environment, Safety and Product Regulation practice in our Washington, D.C., office.  Candidates with 4 to 6 years of demonstrated excellence in legal research and writing, knowledge of regulatory issues, and outstanding academic credentials are sought to assume responsibility in our nationally recognized practice.  Knowledge and interest in a broad range of environmental issues, such as air and renewable energy and chemical control is preferred. Insurance Litigation Associate

Associate for our Washington, DC office with 2 - 3 years of demonstrated litigation and insurance experience to join our highly regarded Insurance practice.  Day-to-day work will include litigation matters (including motions practice, discovery, preparation for mediations and trial) and coverage advice/monitoring professional liability and general liability matters. Intellectual Property Associate

Associate for our Washington, DC office with 3 - 5 years’ experience in intellectual property counseling and/or litigation and a background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or computer science to assist our highly regarded Intellectual Property practice, with a focus on intellectual property disputes under Government Contracts.  Candidate will work closely with partners on all aspects of litigation, including pre-trial preparation, motions practice, discovery, drafting pleadings, depositions, arguments, and working with experts.  The ideal candidate will be a member of the Patent Bar; Government Contracts experience and/or Federal Circuit clerkship is a plus.  Opportunity to gain significant responsibility and direct exposure to clients.  All candidates should have excellent academic credentials, written and oral communications skills, and references.

International Trade Associate

Associate for our Washington, DC office with at least 2 - 3 years of export controls, OFAC/economic sanctions, customs, and/or CFIUS experience to join our nationally recognized International Trade practice.  Academically distinguished applicants who have excellent writing and communication skills, high attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines are sought to assume a client-facing role with significant responsibility. 

Litigation/White Collar Associate

Associate for our Washington, DC office with 2 - 4 years of experience in litigation and/or white-collar matters.  Experience should include all substantive areas of civil litigation, complex government investigations and white-collar criminal litigation including: legal research, written discovery, depositions, motions practice (discovery, dispositive and trial related motions), client and witness interviews, and trial preparation. District clerkship and/or appellate clerkship strongly preferred.   Prior government service a strong plus.  Academically distinguished applicants who have excellent writing and analytical skills, high attention to detail are sought to assume a client-facing role with significant responsibility.
