Wiley Rein Partner Kathleen Kirby Discusses Issues Facing Broadcasters in a TVNewsCheck Interview

Wiley Rein’s Media Group co-chair Kathleen Kirby shared her thoughts on First Amendment and media ownership matters facing the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), including the upcoming Future of Media report, fines levied against broadcasters for use of video news releases and the potential increase in news and local programming to be gained from relaxation of the television duopoly rules.  Ms. Kirby, who is counsel for the Radio Television Digital News Association, also commented on some of the challenges currently facing electronic journalists.
