Megan Brown Discusses AG Nominee Barr’s Potential Approach to Supply Chain Risks

Bloomberg Law
February 5, 2019

Wiley Rein partner Megan L. Brown was quoted by Bloomberg Law in a January 31 article about U.S. Attorney General Nominee William Barr’s potential approach to supply chain risks and threats posed by China.

If Mr. Barr is confirmed, the U.S. Department of Justice could heighten its surveillance of U.S. company supply chains linked to China, Ms. Brown said. But she added that Mr. Barr’s private-sector experience gives him an appreciation for companies’ challenges in curtailing their reliance on foreign suppliers.

“Supply chains are complicated,” she said. Mr. Barr “would understand” that it’s hard for U.S. companies to adjust to that reality, “so any overt pressure would surprise me.”

She also noted that Mr. Barr “digs in” and is “likely going to be hands on and aggressive on what is going on at the department.”

Ms. Brown also recently co-authored a WileyConnect blog post that was cited in the Bloomberg Law article, which can be found here (subscription required).
