Wiley Rein’s Jon Burd Named to Bisnow’s “Trending 40 Lawyers Under 40” List

June 18, 2015

Jon W. Burd, a partner in Wiley Rein’s preeminent Government Contracts Group, was named to Bisnow’s 2015 “Trending 40 Lawyers Under 40” list, which recognizes up-and-coming lawyers from the Washington, DC metro area who have distinguished themselves with exceptional performance and potential. The online publication invited submissions from lawyers at large and small law firms, corporations, nonprofits, and the government; it announced the final list yesterday.

According to Bisnow, these lawyers are “great young talent in the Washington region's legal community,” who have “distinguished themselves in their firms and companies with exceptional performance and potential.”

Mr. Burd counsels government contractors and subcontractors on a range of legal matters. He regularly litigates bid protests before the Government Accountability Office, the Court of Federal Claims, and federal agencies, including classified protests. He conducts internal investigations involving allegations of contractor fraud or abuse in conjunction with Department of Justice and Inspector General subpoenas, suspension and debarment proceedings, and employee whistleblower claims, and helps clients develop and maintain internal compliance and training programs.

Mr. Burd served as law clerk for the Honorable Lawrence J. Block of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and has a J.D., magna cum laude, from George Mason University School of Law.

The honorees will be recognized at a celebratory event at The Warner Building in Washington, DC, in mid-July.
