Kara Sacilotto Becomes Chair of ABA Section of Public Contract Law

Washington, DC Kara M. Sacilotto, a partner in Wiley Rein’s prominent Government Contracts Practice, recently took the gavel as Chair of the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Public Contract Law for 2018-2019. As Chair, Ms. Sacilotto will lead the Section in assuring the personal and professional growth of members, and the sound development of the law relating to procurement at all levels of government.

Over the next year, Ms. Sacilotto will focus on engagement and how Section members can get the most out of their membership with the ABA. She is encouraging members to join a committee, participate in Continuing Legal Education programs at the Section’s upcoming meetings, take advantage of publication opportunities, network with professionals in private practice, government service, and academia, and participate in the Section’s LinkedIn Group. Ms. Sacilotto counsels and represents government contractors of all sizes on all aspects of government contracting. Her practice focuses on representing government contractors in connection with suspension and debarment matters, both before and after exclusion from contracting, ethics and compliance matters, Federal Acquisition Regulation mandatory disclosure issues, and internal investigations. Ms. Sacilotto also litigates cases from bid protests and claims to disputes between contractors.

The mission of the Section of Public Contract Law is to improve public procurement and grant law at the federal, state, and local levels, and promote the professional development of attorney and associate members in public procurement law. The Section pursues its mission through a structured committee system and educational and training programs that welcome and encourage member involvement, foster opportunities for all members of the Section, and that recognize and respond flexibly to the diverse needs, talents, and interests of Section members.
