Scott Delacourt Testifies at U.S. Senate Commerce Committee Hearing on Abusive Robocalling

Washington, DC—Wiley Rein partner Scott D. Delacourt testified today before the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, at a hearing entitled “Abusive Robocalls and How We Can Stop Them.” The hearing examined issues related to malicious spoofing and abusive robocalls that are designed to defraud consumers, and the steps government and industry are taking to protect consumers.

Also testifying at the hearing were Lois Greisman, Associate Director of the Marketing Practice Division in the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) Bureau of Consumer Protection; Rosemary Harold, Chief of the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Enforcement Bureau; Adrian Abramovich, former President of Marketing Strategy Leaders; Kevin Rupy, Vice President of Law and Policy at the United States Telecom Association; and Margot Saunders, Senior Counsel at the National Consumer Law Center.

Mr. Delacourt chairs Wiley Rein’s FTC Regulation Practice and is a member of the Privacy & Cybersecurity, Telecom, Media & Technology, and Wireless practices. He advises clients on developing and implementing regulatory strategies, and represents them before the FCC and FTC. He has a broad range of experience in transactions; FTC/FCC investigations and enforcement; and wireless, telecom, and data privacy/security.
