Wiley Rein’s David A. Gross to Moderate August 21 ‘Tech Policy in the U.S., EU & China’ Fireside Chat at Technology Policy Institute’s 2018 Aspen Forum

August 9, 2018

Washington, DC—Ambassador David A. Gross, co-chair of Wiley Rein’s Telecom, Media & Technology Practice, will moderate an insightful fireside chat on the tech policies of three major international regions at the 2018 Technology Policy Institute Aspen Forum, being held in Aspen, Colorado, August 19-21.

The three-day Forum – which will also feature an August 21 keynote by Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai – brings together leaders from business, government, and academia to discuss and debate key public policy issues affecting innovation, technology, and communications. With the possibility of large shifts in technology policy this year, implications could be felt across economic growth, productivity, and consumer well-being.

The fireside chat moderated by Amb. Gross – “Tech Policy in the U.S., EU & China” – will be held August 21 at 10:45 a.m. MDT. The discussion will feature the following participants:

  • Chen FuTao, Minister-Counselor for Science and Technology, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the United States
  • Peter Fatelnig, Minister-Counselor for Digital Economy Policy, Delegation of the European Union to the United States
  • The Honorable Rohit Chopra, Commissioner, Federal Trade Commission

Amb. Gross, one of the world’s foremost experts on international telecommunications and Internet policies, has addressed the United Nations General Assembly and led more U.S. delegations to major international telecommunication conferences than anyone else in modern history. Amb. Gross draws on more than 30 years of experience as a lawyer, global policymaker, and corporate executive to assist U.S. companies seeking to enter or expand international businesses.

The Technology Policy Institute is a think tank that focuses on the economics of innovation, technological change, and related regulation in the United States and around the world.
