Wiley Rein’s Richard Bodorff to Receive Broadcasters Foundation of America 2018 Ward L. Quaal Leadership Award

Washington, DCRichard J. Bodorff, a partner in Wiley Rein’s Telecom, Media & Technology Practice, will be honored with a 2018 Ward L. Quaal Leadership Award from the Broadcasters Foundation of America. The awards will be presented at the Broadcasters Foundation annual breakfast at 7:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, at the Encore Hotel in Las Vegas, during the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show.

The Leadership Awards are given annually by the Broadcasters Foundation in recognition of career contributions to the broadcast industry and the community at-large and are named in honor of iconic broadcaster Ward L. Quaal. The other honorees this year are Marcellus Alexander, President, NAB Education Foundation; Joe Bilotta, President and CEO, JMB Solutions, LLC; Steve Jones, Vice President and General Manager, ABC Radio; Patrick Maines, former President and CEO, The Media Institute; and Bill McElveen, Executive Vice President, Alpha Media.

Mr. Bodorff has been a partner in the firm’s TMT Practice at Wiley Rein for nearly three decades. He represents the nation’s largest radio broadcasting company and one of the largest television group owners. He has helped structure and obtain regulatory approvals for numerous transactions as the industry has consolidated.

Mr. Bodorff serves on the Board of Directors of the Broadcasters Foundation of America, where he is Acting General Counsel, Chair of the Planned Giving Committee, and a member of the Executive Committee. He was instrumental in creating the Foundation's Legacy Society, which now has in excess of $3.4 million in planned giving commitments, and the Lowry Mays Excellence in Broadcasting Award.
