Working Mother Honors Wiley Rein as One of the 2018 “Best Law Firms for Women”

Annual List Recognizes Firms that “Encourage Women to Rise to the Top”

Washington, DCWorking Mother announced its 11th annual “Best Law Firms for Women” list today, recognizing firms that utilize best practices in retaining and promoting women lawyers. Wiley Rein LLP was among 60 firms nationally that made the list, and one of only eight Washington, DC-based firms to be recognized. Among the statistics that garnered Wiley Rein national recognition are the fact that 53% of women partners hold equity in the firm and 56% of Wiley Rein’s associates are female.

The full list of Best Law Firms for Women, available here, highlights law firms like Wiley Rein that were chosen based on such factors as career advancement initiatives, parental leave, and work-life balance.

Gomez, partner and chair of Wiley Rein’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. “We’re particularly proud of our involvement in such initiatives as the OnRamp Fellowship program – which matches law firms with experienced women returning to the workforce after a career break – as well as our innovative Women in Government Contracts (WiCG) program, which utilizes networking, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing to advance women professionals in government contracting law.”

Wiley Rein’s Women’s Forum – started in 2013 and led by Rachel A. Alexander, Laura El-Sabaawi, and Eve Klindera Reed – provides career advancement, networking, and business development opportunities for Wiley Rein attorneys at all stages of their career. Past Women’s Forum events have featured candid conversations with such high-profile women leaders as Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton and Sen. Amy Klobuchar.

Firms that applied to be considered for the “Best Law Firms for Women” list were subject to rigorous scrutiny by Working Mother. The application included more than 300 questions about attorney representation, schedule flexibility, paid time off and parental leaves, and development and retention of women attorneys.
