Wiley Rein's Telecommunications Practice and Richard Wiley Receive Top Honors from Chambers USA; Six Partners Named Leading Lawyers

June 12, 2009

The 2009 edition of Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business has again ranked Wiley Rein's Telecom Practice in its top tier of DC-area firms, singling out Managing Partner Richard E. Wiley, R. Michael Senkowski and partners Andrew G. McBride, Nancy J. Victory, Peter D. Shields and Henry M. Rivera as "leading lawyers" in the Telecom, Broadcast & Satellite regulatory arena.

Chambers reports that "this broad practice possesses tremendous bench strength and is active across the broadcast, satellite and telecom sectors."  "The renowned Dick Wiley" is described as a "pillar of the firm and of telecom work in DC generally." Noting that "the firm also fields a formidable number of ranked attorneys in addition to this star performer," Peter Shields receives mention for his "considerable experience handling telecoms and wireless matters" and Andrew McBride for his "wealth of trial, appellate and Supreme Court experience in the areas of communications, Internet services, administrative law and constitutional law."  Telecom Practice chair Michael Senkowski, former NTIA chief Nancy Victory, former FCC Commissioner Henry Rivera and Ambassador David A. Gross, former U.S. Coordinator for International Communications and Information Policy round out the notable team.

The Chambers ratings are based on extensive interviews of law firms' clients, colleagues and competitors.  Inclusion in the directory is determined through a rigorous vetting process whereby Chambers researchers evaluate law firms and attorneys on a number of factors.
